The Office of Diversity and Equity Programs is responsible for ensuring the USILD's compliance with the Institute policies as well as federal, state, and local laws pertaining to affirmative action, diversity, and equal employment opportunity. To fulfill the office mission, the director serves as the 504/ADA and as the Title IX coordinator; serves on the Sexual Harassment Panel; co-coordinates the implementation of the Institute's Diversity Plan; and is a member of the Diversity Council and the Executive Committee for the Center for Diversity.

Furthermore, the office strives to ensure that every member of the United States Institute of Leadership and Diplomacy community, including students, employees, and visitors, has the opportunity to live, learn, and work free from sexual and gender-based harassment and violence.
